The second International Conference For Teachers (ICFT), 2016 was organized by Jyotirmoy School of Education under the aegis of The West Bengal University of Teachers’ Training, Education Planning and Administration in collaboration with Kunming University, P.R. China on the 9th and 10th April, 2016 at Jyotirmoy Knowledge Park, Kolkata, West Bengal, India. The Conference was managed and conceived by Saraswati Online.Com. The theme of the conference was – “Globalising Teacher Education – Agenda for Action” with emphasis on a number of sub-themes e.g. ‘Globalisation & Quality Enhancement in Teacher Education’, ‘Globalisation & Management in Teacher Education’, ‘Globalisation & Community Development Programme in Teacher Education’, ‘Globalisation & Multiculturalism in Teacher Education’, ‘Globalisation & Values of inclusiveness in Teacher Education’ etc.
The delegation and /or participation was from China, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and India. Prof. Yuanfen Li, Vice President- Kunming University, P.R. China, Prof. Yong Zhang, Vice President- Baoshan University, P.R. China, Prof. Mita Banerjee, Vice Chancellor, The West Bengal University of Teachers’ Training, Education Planning and Administration; Prof. Swagata Sen, Pro- Vice Chancellor(Academic)- University of Calcutta; Dr. Partha Sarathi Ganguli, President, Board of Governors- JSE, Chief Mentor- Saraswati Online. Com; Ms. Vanita Ganguli- Chief Executive Officer, Saraswati Online. Com along with the galaxy of eminent and leading personalities of those countries, researchers, academicians, teachers have graced the occasion.
The first day programme of the ICFT, 2016 was comprised of Opening Ceremony, Technical Session I with the speeches of the experts from Bangladesh, Bhutan and India, Technical Session II i.e. concurrent/Parallel Paper Presentation Session with the chairpersons from India, China, Bangladesh and UK, where the paper presenters were able to share their views, ideas in the field of the Teacher Education in the fast changing world. The first day was over with the delightful Gala Dinner with the colorful cultural programme.
The second day was started with the paper presentation sessions following the same style and norms of the first day, followed by a Panel Discussion on the topic “Professionalism in Teacher Education in Global Sphere”. The Panelists and the moderator were from UK, China and India. The entire programme was wrapped up with the Valedictory Ceremony and the Vote of Thanks, ensuring the achievements of the objectives of the conference.
