In China, you can pursue MBBS in English
Economically, China is one of the strongest in the world and naturally, despite language barriers, the country is a top destination for both business and education. Since 2003, when China opened its gates to foreign medical students, the global rush for Chinese schools of medicine has continued unabated. Marking their presence in that rush have been thousands of Indian students, who find Chinese medical schools a very viable option in terms of education fees and international acceptance of MBBS degrees.
Hundreds of medical schools and universities exist in China today, offering MBBS education to a vast international community of students, including Indians, as mentioned before.
Now the question is: how many of these universities use the language of English as a medium of teaching? It is difficult to pinpoint each and every one of them, but there are quite a few leading medical schools in China that are widely known for their well-crafted MBBS courses in English.
However, according to the Chinese Ministry of Education, only 45 universities are allowed to offer MBBS degrees in English and, obviously, they admit foreign students, including Indians.
Like in most countries, medical education in China has a five-year duration. One year additionally is earmarked for internship, which has to be completed to earn a final degree. For admission, Indian students would have to produce their NEET scorecard.
