Eligibility for Studying MBBS in India

MBBS Admission in India is governed as per the guidelines set by Medical Council of India (MCI). The minimum eligibility for the admission to MBBS course in India is 10+2 pass with good marks with major subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB).

The candidate must have secured an aggregate of 50% in 12th class examination for the general category and 40% in SC, ST or OBC category for admission to MBBS course in India.

The applicant must be of minimum 17 years of age on or before 31st day of December of the year of admission.

The student must clear the Medical Entrance Examinations conducted by the National Testing Agency.


NEET is a national level single medical entrance exam conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) as an independent, autonomous and self-sustained premier testing organization for conducting efficient, transparent and international standard test, under the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India (GOI).

NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE TEST (UG) 2020 (NEET (UG) – 2020) is conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses and other undergraduate medical courses for the filling of medical seats in all govt. and private medical institutions.

The syllabus of NEET will be based on Class 11th & Class 12th subjects, chapters & topics. The syllabus has four sections: Physics, Chemistry, and Zoology & Botany. The NEET syllabus is prepared after combining the syllabus of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), National Council of Education Research and Training (NCER) and Council Board of School Education (COBSE).
